Legendary French fashion designer Pierre Cardin, known for his Space-Age designs, has died.

Cardin’s designs shot him to fame in the 1960s.
His signature adorned items like watches and bedsheets and were sold at around 100,000 outlets world.
His brand reached its peak in the 1970s and 1980s.
His popularity dwindled as products were seen as cheaply made and designs remained largely unchanged from the 1960s and were seen as dated.
In reporting the death, the French Academy of Fine Arts wouldn’t give any details on where, when or how he died.
Pierre Cardin was 98.
