Ontario’s just announced nine-member COVID vaccine task force has held its first meeting.

It’s led by retired chief of national defence staff … General Rick Hillier.

Task force members include the province’s chief coroner Dr Dirk Huyer and former Toronto police chief Mark Saunders.
But one health care group has apparently been overlooked: long term care professionals.
Palliative care doctor Amit Arya tweeted that 70% of the COVID-19 deaths in the province have been in long term care homes. Looking at the list of task force members, he notes that not a single one is a long term care physician, nurse practitioner or nurse (the people who will be vaccinating residents of long term care homes).
He pointedly asks: “Where is the logic?”
