The circus troupe that grew from a group of street performers in the 1980s to a huge global entertainment company has survived bankruptcy and will keep its headquarters in the city where it began.
Cirque du Soleil has completed its sale to a group of its creditors.
The pandemic forced Cirque to cancel most of its shows earlier this year and cut nearly 3,500 employees.
The new owners have agreed to keep the company’s headquarters in Montreal.
