For the first time since the pandemic hit England, Queen Elizabeth has made her first public engagement outside a royal residence.
The 94 year old Monarch attended a military research facility in Wiltshire where scientists have been conducting research into COVID-19
She didn’t speak to reporters, but did officially open the facility.
The Queen was accompanied by her grand son, Prince William. Neither wore face masks although all involved were physically distanced and staff had been tested for COVID-19 prior to the visit.
The mask decision drew criticism from some over the requirement that all Brits wear face coverings in stores and other indoor venues.
