It’s a place with almost religious significance in Liverpool.
The Cavern Club, the place that helped the The Beatles get their start, is getting a major financial shot in the arm to help stay afloat.
The British government has the venue on a list of arts and cultural spots getting a piece of a $335-million financial grant.  The Cavern is down for about $700-thousand to help fund the recording of performances from local musicians.
Also on the list to receive help; The London Symphony Orchestra, The Royal Academy of Dance and some 1,400 other UK arts and cultural organizations.
