The Royal Canadian Legion is selling non-medical masks and will roll out e-payment options during this year’s poppy campaign.
Most branches will not have donation tables or place volunteers at store entrances due to COVID-19 restrictions.
However, the veteran service group says poppy boxes will be set up and accepting coin donations at about 25,000 locations across the country.
Electronic donation boxes accepting tap payment options will be at 250 locations after the campaign begins October 30
In addition, revenue from sales of non-medical Legion masks will go toward supporting the legion.
The Legion is also discouraging spectators from attending the national Remembrance Day ceremony in Ottawa November 11 ”for the first time.”
