The Ontario government wants to make it easier for those looking to support Ontario businesses as the economy starts to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Premier Doug Ford announced the “Ontario Made” program today. It aims to celebrate Ontario manufactured products while, at the same time, making it easier for people looking for domestic products in stores.

The $500,000 for the programs comes from the $50 million Ontario Together Fund.

Included in the program is a website that helps make it easier to connect with manufacturers.

“Ontario has always been Canada’s workshop, and our products are recognized as the gold standard across the country and around the world,” said Premier Ford in a release. “Our government is proud to support Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters’ Ontario Made program. Promoting locally made products will be essential to building a strong, self-sufficient province and key to our economic recovery.”
