Ghislaine Maxwell, accused by many women of helping procure underage sex partners for Jeffrey Epstein, has been arrested in New Hampshire.
The British socialite, who lived for years with Epstein, was taken into custody Thursday morning by the FBI.
The indictment alleges Maxwell ”assisted, facilitated and contributed to Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse of minor girls by, among other things, helping Epstein to recruit, groom, and ultimately abuse” girls under 18.
Maxwell was accused by many women of recruiting them to give Epstein massages during which they were pressured into sex.
Those accusations never resulted in criminal charges until now.
Maxwell has previously repeated denied any wrongdoing, calling some of the accusations ”absolute rubbish.”
Epstein took his own life in a federal detention centre in New York last summer while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
