With another weekend just getting underway, the city wants to avoid scenes like the ones from last weekend at Trinity Bellwoods Park.

Last Saturday, the images of thousands of people crammed into one section of the park in violation of physical distancing mandates angered the public and officials alike. In response, the city has painted social distancing circles in the park but whether people stick to the boundaries remains to be seen.

While it’s not expected to be as warm as last weekend, Mayor John Tory is reminding Torontonians to remember to keep practicing physical distancing.

“We need to have you continue doing the good work you have been doing to keep this deadly virus from spreading,” Tory said today as he reminded people the rules on social gatherings remains in effect.

“Please keep your distance from others. I know, it can be tough. Please stay home as much as you can and only gather with people you live with. Now is not the time for backyard barbeques or neighbours or for a party in the park. Not just yet.”
