If and when Broadway reopens, the Disney musical “Frozen” will be kept on ice. Disney says the show will not return, something that disappoints its original star, Hamilton, Ontario’s Cassie Levy.
“Frozen” opened in March 2018, with Levy originating the role of Elsa. It was a top money make, earning as much as $2-million a week.
She left the show in February of this year.
She Tweeted, “What a heartbreak. I’m so proud of what we built. We will always be family. Also sending love to all the devoted fans of our beautiful show.”
This is the first time an established Broadway production has been killed off by the COVID-19 pandemic.
