It’s not the usual way to take in an art exhibition, but very little is usual during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The monumental exhibition of “Immersive van Gogh” was to have made its world premiere in Toronto this week, welcoming audiences to a 600,000 cubic foot digital art experience featuring some 2,000 images from Vincent Van Gogh’s catalogue.
However, as a result of the pandemic, the organizers have created a world first, an innovated drive-in concept that offers the visual art experience while maintaining public safety.
“Gogh by Car” will allow people inside 14 cars to park and enjoy a 35 minute show inside the historic space that once housed the Toronto Star’s printing press at 1 Yonge Street.
“Gogh by Car” is currently slated to run June 18th to the 28th.
