TORONTO BREAKS 81 YEAR OLD LOW TEMPERATURE RECORD FOR MAY 12TH

It was so cold early Tuesday morning, Toronto set a new low temperature record for May 12th.

According to Environment Canada, the temperature dipped to -3 celcius, breaking the previous record of -2.2 celcius set on May 12th back in 1939!

Toronto is expected to see a high of 8 celcius on Tuesday, well below seasonal temperatures for this time of year.

Despite the current cold streak, milder weather is on the way just for the Victoria Day long weekend.

The national weather agency is calling for a high of 21 celcius on Friday and 19 celcius on Saturday and Sunday.

There is a 60 per cent chance of showers on both Saturday and Sunday.

The warmest temperature recorded on May 12th was 29.2 celcius set in 1991.
