PROVINCE PROVIDING MORE MONEY, SERVICES FOR SENIORS, OTHERS DURING PANDEMIC

Recognizing seniors and those with disabilities are most at-risk during the pandemic, Premier Doug Ford’s announcing funding to help deliver meals, medicines and other essentials.
”We’re partnering with the Ontario Community Support Association.  We’re investing $11-million to help the Meals on Wheels program and other community organizations,” said Ford.
The first doubled Guaranteed Annual Income System (GAINS) payments are being delivered this week.
Individuals will get up to $166 per-month, couples up to $332 a-month.
The doubled payments will help 194,000 low-income seniors who may need help to cover essential expenses for six months.
”This will provide much needed financial support to the seniors who need it most, and make it easier for them to stay safe and healthy at home.”
