ENHANCED VISITOR SCREENING COMING TO TORONTO CITY HALL

Feb 12, 2020

Beginning Tuesday February 18, anyone visiting City Hall will have to go through a metal detector upon entering.
It’s similar to what visitors have encountered entering the Council Chambers since December 2018 and much like what you see at sports and entertainment venues.
The city says moving the metal detectors to the main floor will reduce the number of security check locations in the building.
Starting next week, visitor access to City Hall will only be through the front doors facing Nathan Phillips Square.
Screening will not be required for access to the information desk, the library, washrooms or cafe/restaurant.
Security cards will be needed for access through the north and west side doors.  For more click here.
