Pop diva Mariah Carey, who’s co-written 18 of her record 19 Number One hits, is going into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
The only hit she did not write was a cover of The Jackson 5’s ”I’ll Be There.”
Carey trails only the The Beatles, who had 20 songs top the chart.
The 25-year-old holiday staple ”All I Want for Christmas Is You,” reached Number One in December and January, making Carey the only artist to have a chart topper in the ’90s, 2000s, 2010s and 2020s.
Other inductees include The Isley Brothers
”Shout” – ”It’s Your Thing” – ”That Lady”
Eurythmics duo Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart
”Sweet Dreams [Are Made of This]”
Steve Miller
”The Joker” – ”Jet Airliner” – ”Take the Money and Run” – ”Space Cowboy” – ”Fly Like an Eagle” – ”Abracadabra”
Motown writing legend William ”Mickey” Stevenson
”Devil with a Blue Dress On” – ”Dancing in the Street” – ”What Becomes of the Brokenhearted”.
