Republican House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy dismisses the notion the U.S. or Donald Trump should bear any blame for the downing of the Ukrainian jet.
The crash came five days after a U.S. military airstrike killed Iran Revolutionary Guard General Qassem Soleimani.
McCarthy sidestepped questions if the Trump administration should have warned Canada of its plan.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has said if there was no escalation recently in the region, those Canadians (killed in the crash) would be home with their families.
McCarthy says Trudeau did not have to mention Iran because the facts are purely on Iran.
Former U.S. ambassador to Canada Bruce Heyman tweeted today the prime minister is correct to state Trump’s ”escalation” made the crash possible.
