Lottery ticket vendors have had rapid business as Canadians from all areas of the country have lined up to try and win the largest lottery jackpot in Canadian history.
Friday’s Lotto Max jackpot clocks in at a whopping $70-million. That breaks the previous record of $65-million.
The draw will take place not long after the 10:30pm deadline to buy tickets. If there’s no winner, that same $70-million prize will be up for grabs in the next draw on Tuesday.
The reason for the sky high jackpot is that there’s been no winner of the big prize since the end of November and the value has been climbing since then.
Friday’s draw will also feature at least 10 prizes of $1-million.
