There is a large swath of area across central and eastern Ontario which remains under Environment Canada freezing rain warnings.

They cover a region which extends from just north of the Greater Toronto Area up to North Bay, Sudbury and Sault Ste. Marie, and all the way east to the Ottawa Valley.

Travellers are warned to prepare for treacherous road conditions, as well as possible flight delays or cancellations.

In fact, the OPP are advising motorists against any unnecessary driving.

As for power outages, Hydro One crews are gearing up to respond to what is expected to be a significant ice storm. Click here to see where there are current outages.

Here in Toronto, there was a tragic collision overnight on the east 401 express lanes at Allan Road. A man was killed by a transport truck after getting out of his vehicle which had stalled in a live lane of traffic. All lanes have since reopened.
