Pancreatic cancer is the only major cancer with a five-year survival rate in the single digits.
Thursday November 21st is World Pancreatic Cancer Day.
Canadian-born Jeopardy host Alex Trebek is fighting pancreatic cancer and helping to raise awareness with a recently released public service announcement.
See it by clicking here.
79 year old Trebek says he’s joined forces with the World Pancreatic Cancer Coalition, which brings together more than 80 organizations from over 30 countries and six continents to raise awareness and inspire action.
Trebek asks us to join him in the fight by wearing purple during the month of November, spreading the word on social media and visiting the World Pancreatic Cancer Day website.
Our own Libby Znaimer is among the few who’ve survived pancreatic cancer beyond five years. In fact, Libby is cancer-free after her pancreatic cancer diagnosis 11 years ago.
Listen for more on the fight against pancreatic cancer during the second half hour of Thursday’s Fight Back with Libby Znaimer at about 12:45.
