A senior RCMP intelligence official, accused of preparing to leak sensitive information, is out on bail as he awaits trial.

However, an Ottawa judge has ordered 47-year-old Cameron Ortis to live with his parents in B.C., to report to the Mounties once-a-week, plus he’s not allowed to use any device that can connect to the internet.

As the decision was announced, he smiled at his family and his mother quietly cried.

Ortis is charged under the Security of Information Act with preparing to share information with a foreign entity or terrorist group.
