A new study finds no matter the age, there are physical and psychological benefits to cardiac rehabilitation, a specialized-exercise program for people with heart disease.

French researchers looked at the effects of cardiac rehab on more than 700 people with heart disease, ranging in age from under 65 to more than 80.

The rehab included educational programs about lifestyle changes and 25 physical training sessions, including exercise tolerance measured by a stationary bike test, a timed walking test, and anxiety and depression scales.

The study published in the Canadian Journal of Cardiology found all age groups did better in the tasks after two months of rehab.
