The question of who will replace Placido Domingo as general director of Los Angeles Opera has been answered pretty quickly. It’s nobody.
The L.A. Opera’s board of director has announced it’s consolidating the role of general director with the duties of the company’s President and Chief Executive.
The move followed last week’s resignation by the opera legend who stated that the ongoing investigation into allegations of sexual harassment against him was distracting from the work of the company and making it impossible to do his job.
Domingo has denied the accusations, saying that his actions had been misinterpreted and “as presented, inaccurate.”
The L.A. Opera has launched an investigation into the allegations however a timeline has not been announced for its conclusion.
