Don’t work too hard! It could affect your ability to make good decisions.

French researchers have found working too hard, either physically or mentally, can negatively affect decision making.

The study published in the journal Current Biology evaluated the brain functions of 37 competitive male endurance athletes while either undergoing normal physical training or training overload.

They found those people with training overload were more likely to seek immediate rewards for specific tasks and were less future-oriented. As an example, they would consider doping because of immediate benefits rather than looking at the long-term consequences.
