Upwards of 150,000 travelers are stranded and some 21,000 people are out of work after the collapse of British tour operator Thomas Cook after almost 180 years in business.

As a result, Thomas Cook has cancelled travel bookings for more than 600,000 vacationers world wide and grounded its four airlines.

The British government is working to get home the 150,000 Thomas Cook customers who are currently abroad.  They’re calling the effort the largest repatriation in British peacetime history.
