A trumpet, designed and played by Miles Davis, the man behind the best selling jazz album of all time, is headed for a Christie’s auction in New York.

The trumpet is a B Flat Model T3460. It was commissioned in 1980 and features a deep blue lacquer and gilt crescent moon and stars.

It’s expected to fetch upwards of $100-thousand when it goes on sale October 29th.
