One block of the Danforth will be temporarily transformed this weekend to demonstrate street safety measures that are part of the city’s Vision Zero plan.
City councillor Brad Bradford explained to Zoomer Radio’s ”Fight Back” with Libby Znaimer, what you’ll see at Canada’s first such pop-up … at Danforth and Woodbine … that prioritizes people.
”You’re going to see wider sidewalks to support businesses and pedestrian activity. You’re going to see bike lanes. You’re going to see public artwork. All of this stuff that really says it’s not just about moving cars, it’s about moving people. And we need to have designs that are 21st century city-minded and do it in the safest way possible,” Bradford told Zoomer Radio.

The pop-up will be on display from Friday 4pm until Saturday 3pm.
Two similar events are being planned for the west-end and North York but no dates have been set.
