The on-again, off-again 50th anniversary of the Woodstock Music and Art Fair is off again, or is it?

Both Watkins Glen International, the venue for this summer’s anniversary, and CID Entertainment, the producer, have now officially backed out, but the organizers insist the event is still happening.

Woodstock 50 was originally scheduled from August 16th to the 18th at the upstate New York racetrack but yesterday, following a recent series of setbacks and complications, Watkins Glen International terminated the site license for the event. An hour later the festival’s producer announced it too was cutting ties with Woodstock 50.

However, Woodstock 50 LLC principal Gregory Peck says the event will still happen and he’s in discussions about another location.

The original event was held at a farm near Bethel, New York from August 15th to the 18th, 1969. Back then a single admission ticket cost $7.00.
