Toronto city council has decided it will remain at the table with the Ford government in order to get answers to many questions concerning the recently announced transit expansion.
The city has 61 questions for the province, including ones regarding key details like cost and schedule estimates.
”It think we’ve taken a step forward,” said Mayor John Tory.
”We have set out a number of questions, and a number of real concerns that we have that now can form the basis of discussion.”
City staff will report back in June and then council will decide whether to direct $4-billion in federal money to the province’s plan.
Meanwhile, council has also voted unanimously to ask the Ford government to reinstate the gas tax funding for the TTC.
