You’re being told it’s coming in Thursday’s provincial budget, but government sources say the slogan replacing ”Yours to Discover” on passenger vehicles will be ”A Place to Grow”.
If it sounds awfully familiar it’s because that’s a line from Ontario’s ”A Place to Stand, A Place to Grow (Ontari-ari-ari-o!)” jingle from Expo 67 in Montreal.
The slogan ”Open for Business” may appear on black and white commercial plates.
There are about 1.8-million new plates issues by the province each year and currently 12.9-millon active registered licence plates.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the premier says the government’s also considering following Quebec and many American states by eliminating front licence plates.
