Up to 10,000 people attended a rally at Queen’s Park on Saturday to demand more funding for public education and to voice their opposition to planned changes to Ontario’s education system.

Union members, teachers and students took to a stage set up in the front lawn to decry the Ford Government’s proposed increase in class sizes in intermediate and high school grades as well as a plan to shed over 3,000 teaching positions over the next four years.
The rally was organized by five unions representing workers in every Ontario school board and follows a student led walk out on Thursday.
Premier Doug Ford has responded to the rally on twitter saying his government will not be distracted from making the necessary reforms to create a sustainable world class education system that protects what matters most for students.
