The day after kicking Jody Wilson-Raybould and Jane Philpott out of the Liberal caucus, the prime minister spoke to 338 young women, who took part in the ‘Daughters of the Vote’ event on Parliament Hill.

As Justin Trudeau began explaining his expulsion of the two former cabinet ministers, nearly 50 of the women slowly rose and turned their backs.
Some later said they were protesting the removal of Wilson-Raybould and Philpott while others cited the treatment of Indigenous people.
The prime minister told them that members of his government need to trust each other and when that trust is broken they need to figure out how to move forward.
The event encourages young women to become involved in politics.
