The largest was southbound 400 south of Mapleview Drive.

Snow, blowing snow caused whiteout conditions that likely were factors in the pileup that may have involved as many as 70 vehicles.
OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt says it remains to be determined if all of them sustained damage.
A section of the 400 remains closed in both directions.
About 10 people were taken to hospital with minor injuries as a precaution.
Meanwhile, around the same time, another pileup about 70 kilometres north on Highway 11 near Washago, involved about 30 vehicles.
