After Treasury Board President Scott Brison suddenly decided he would not seek re-election, the prime minister has moved Jane Philpott from Indigenous Services to Treasury Board.
Seamus O’Regan goes from Veterans Affairs to Indigenous Services.
Jody Wilson-Raybould moves from Justice to Veterans Affairs, generally considered a more minor portfolio.
”I can think of no world in which I would consider working for our veterans in Canada as a demotion.”
The prime minister does not consider it a demotion either, saying veterans’ issues require the same deft touch she brought to the justice portfolio.
David Lametti is the new Justice Minister and Attorney-General.
Bernadette Jordan is minister of Rural Economic Development, a new position on the front bench.
