A long, frightful 48-hours for Shirley Lee and family.
The 75-year-old Scarborough woman, who has Alzheimer’s, disappeared from the Lawrence-Morningside Avenues area Christmas Eve.
(Toronto Police Service)
Toronto police conducted a high level search starting Christmas Day and continuing on Boxing Day.
Lee was found about 3-kilometres away near Lawrence Avenue East and Markham Road, asking for help.
Grandson Chris Chase was overjoyed.
”Wow.  This is amazing.  It’s a happy ending for everybody…She’s fine, a little tired.  Here comes 2019 and it’s going to be a good year.”
