Despite warnings of potential E. coli in romaine lettuce, there are 3 more confirmed illnesses reported in Canada – one in Ontario, two in Quebec.

That brings the total who’ve become ill to 22 — 4 in this province, 17 in Quebec, 1 in New Brunswick.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration says the contaminated lettuce likely came from California, and that uncontaminated romaine from Florida and Arizona should soon be making its way to consumers.

Meantime, Canadian grocery stores have pulled romaine lettuce from shelves, and many restaurants have stopped serving caesar salads after the 3rd E. coli outbreak in just one year.
