A group of 12 American senators is pushing President Donald Trump to fast-track the final text of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement.
The Republicans want the White House to submit the final legal text – and a draft statement of administrative action before November 30th – so Congress can vote on the agreement before the end of the year.
The powerful group is warning that getting the trade pact approved will be more difficult next year – with a Democrat majority in the House of Representatives.
But Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has already said Congress won’t deal with the agreement until sometime next spring – and it’s not clear whether Congress would have time to deal with the U-S-M-C-A.. even if the text is submitted by the end of the month.
