The city of Toronto’s Vision Zero Road Safety Plan has introduced a public awareness campaign, which includes what’s known as ”Art of Distraction”.
Along with your typical ad elements such as posters, radio, TV and social media, there are unique displays at five transit shelters.

Commuters and passers-by will see are items found in the aftermath of crashes involving distracted drivers, pedestrians and cyclists, including cards telling of tragedy, loss and grief.
”Each story is unique and there’s several that come to mind … but really the message is that there’s real people behind all of these things and they’re preventable. That’s the big thing,” said Toronto Police Sgt Brett Moore on Zoomer Radio’s ”Fight Back” with guest host Jane Brown.
The campaign begins as we prepare to turn clocks back this weekend, and statistics show there’s a spike in collisions around this time of year.
