The federal environment minister says any province that isn’t on board with the Trudeau government’s climate plan – won’t be getting any cash from Ottawa’s low-carbon economy fund.

Catherine McKenna says the two-billion-dollar fund is for provinces that show a commitment – to seriously tackling climate change.

Federal officials have been reviewing the $420-million dollars that was earmarked for Ontario – after the province’s newly elected Tory government scrapped a cap-and-trade system and rejected imposing a price on carbon.

Provinces have until the weekend to submit their climate change plans for federal scrutiny.
