Canadians who think they’re enjoying their favourite fish dish – may be getting something else entirely.
A new study finds nearly half of seafood samples tested in Canadian grocery stores and restaurants – were not the species they were labelled as.
The report from advocacy group Oceana Canada – found 44 percent of almost 400 seafood samples tested from five Canadian cities – did not meet the Canadian Food Inspection Agency’s labelling requirements.
So far, no comment from the agency.
