Those involved in planning McCain’s farewell say the Arizona Republican will lie in state in the Arizona state capitol on Wednesday ahead of a Thursday funeral at North Phoenix Baptist Church.

In Washington, McCain will lie in state in the Capitol Rotunda on Friday. A second funeral will take place Saturday at Washington National Cathedral.

And a private memorial service is planned on Sunday at the U.S. Naval Academy Chapel in Annapolis, Maryland. Buriel will be held in the academy cemetery.

For now, admirers of John McCain are visiting the mortuary in Phoenix where his body is being held until the various events get underway.

John McCain died of brain cancer Saturday just shy of his 82nd birthday in his home state of Arizona, where he had served over six terms in the U.S. Senate.

People are also paying tribute to McCain at the U.S Embassy in Hanoi, Vietnam and at the monument built where he parachuted from his Navy Skyhawk dive bomber in October 1967 and was taken prisoner of war. He was held more than five years at the infamous Hanoi Hilton prison.
