Reprehensible, bizarre, shameful, nothing short of treasonous.
Just some of the reaction to Donald Trump’s remarks at the joint news conference with Russia’s Vladimir Putin following their face-to-face in Finland.

After both presidents gave their impressions of their meeting, reporters asked the leaders for their thoughts on what part Russia may have played in the 2016 U.S. election.
Putin repeated there was no Russian interference and Trump said he sees no reason why Russia would interfere.

“I have great confidence in my intelligence people, but I will tell you that President Putin was extremely strong and powerful in his denial today.”
Former CIA director John Brennan says Donald Trump’s news conference rises to and exceeds the threshold of high crimes and misdemeanors, adding it was nothing short of treasonous.
”Not only were Trump’s comments imbecilic he is wholly in the pocket of Putin.”
Republican Senator Jeff Flake tweeted he never thought he would see the day when a U.S. president would stand on the stage with a Russian president and place blame on the United States for Russian aggression.
Republic Senator John McCain called Trump’s remarks ”one of the most disgraceful performances by an American president in memory,” calling the summit a ”tragic mistake”.
McCain says Trump proved not only unable, ”but unwilling to stand up to Putin,” adding it seemed they were speaking from the same script.
And U.S. House Speaker Paul Ryan says there’s ”no question” Russia interfered in the election and continues to try to undermine democracy in the U.S. and around the world.
