Statistics Canada says Ontario gained 35,000 jobs last month – the biggest increase in the country.
The number brings total year-over-year gains in the province to 157,000.
The federal agency says the bulk of the new jobs created in June were in full-time employment…which was up by 22,400.
But Ontario’s unemployment rate increased to 5.9 per cent from 5.7 per cent in May – because more people were looking for work.
