A male cyclist is now in hospital with life-threatening injuries, after he was hit by a tractor trailor at Dixie Road and Midway Boulevard. The collision happened at about 3:30 Wednesday morning, and police say the tractor trailer remained at the scene. Investigators with Peel Regional Police’s major collision bureau are probing the circumstances surrounding the collision.

In Toronto, taxpayer money dedicated to Vision Zero was more than doubled last week at Toronto City Council. The goal is to reduce the number of pedestrian and cyclist deaths to zero by 2021. Toronto is no where near that target, with the number of pedestrian or cyclist deaths at 21 to the end of June.
