One of Canada’s national treasures is giving Toronto’s Massey Hall a three night send off as the historic concert hall prepares to close for major renovations.
Gordon Lightfoot, now 79, says he doesn’t consider this run of shows to be a farewell; just a pause in his usual of routine of playing Massey every 18-months.
Massey is to undergo interior and exterior updates, plus the construction of a new building to the south of the original structure and is expected to last two years.
Lightoot’s shows wrap up appropriately enough on Canada Day.
