Mayor John Tory is presenting an inspiring musical master with the “Key to the City.”
Maestro Peter Oundjian is being honoured for invigorating the Toronto Symphony Orchestra in a number of ways during his tenure – which includes the creation of recordings, tours and innovative programming like the New Creations Festival.
As Conductor Emeritus his final season is currently coming to an end with a month-long musical celebration of his career.
Oundjian will receive the Toronto honour Friday at 1:30 at Roy Thomson Hall –
following a free Thank You Toronto concert by the TSO at 12:30.
June 28th to 30th he concludes his time as TSO Music Director – with Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony.
