The day after the Senate passing Bill C-45, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau revealed the date.
”The new recreational cannabis regime will officially come into force on October 17th of this year.  We heard from provinces and territories who told us they needed more time to transition to this new framework.  So, our government will continue to work in full partnership with them to ensure the smooth and orderly implementation of this new law across Canada.”
Advocate and so-called ”Prince of Pot” Marc Emery told Zoomer Radio’s ”Fight Back” with guest host Jane Brown, what the government’s done is just a new form of prohibition.
”It’s just not legalization.  There’s so many ways you can get arrested under the current new laws, that it’s clearly not legalization.  There should be no punishment involved if it’s legal.”
Emery calls the law a ”sham” and a ”fraud”.
