In announcing the pilot project, the Greater Toronto Airports Authority said there’s ”significant demand” from passengers.
Previously, only licensed taxis and limos served Pearson, which moved about 47-million passengers last year.
The GTAA points out some 200 North American airports already allow ride-hailing, including Ottawa, Montreal, Edmonton and Calgary.
Pearson is not saying how long the pilot project will last but does say it will monitor how the move affects transportation to and from the airport.
