Ahead of the long weekend when many Canadians drive to cottages or take road trips to visit family and friends, gas prices are on the rise.
“Honest to God, I never thought it would be this high!” exclaimed fuel analyst Dan McTeague of GasBuddy.com.
The price of regular gas in the GTA went up a cent a litre on Friday morning to $1.39.9, although you can find it cheaper. Saturday, the price is expected to go up another cent to $1.40.0, what McTeague says is artificial inflation created by the gas retailers.
Gas prices haven’t been this high in the GTA since June of 2014.
