Canadian musical legend Burton Cummings is recovering from injuries he suffered this past weekend in a car crash in Los Angeles.

In a lengthy Facebook post, the 70-year old singer songwriter, who was born and raised Winnipeg, says his vehicle was struck by a car that ran a red light.

Cummings writes that he suffered a concussion along with cuts and bruises to both arms, a painful left leg and intense back pain.

The musician says he’ll need some “serious healing time” but is focusing on just how lucky he is not to have been killed or crippled.
