TORONTO PUBLIC HEALTH INVESTIGATING CONFIRMED CASE OF MEASLES

Toronto Public Health is looking into a lab-confirmed case of measles in an infant who recently travelled abroad.

The public may have been exposed in the following settings.

   Aboard Saudia Airlines flight SV0759 that left Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, India at 8pm April 29 and arrived at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia three hours later.
   Aboard Saudia Airlines flight SV0061 that left Saudi Arabia April 30 at 3:40 a.m. and arrived at Pearson International Airport 9:45 a.m. 
   Pediatric Outpatient Services at Humber River Hospital on May 4 between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Anyone who has not had two doses of a measles vaccine (MMR or MMRV) or who has not had measles in the past is at risk of infection.
Toronto Public Health will hold vaccination clinics at Etobicoke Civic Centre, 399 The West Mall, today from 4-7p.m. and May 8 from 2-7p.m.

Even if your up-to-date with your measles vaccine, Toronto Public Health advises you watch for symptoms, including a high fever, cold-like symptoms (cough/runny nose), sore eyes or sensitivity to light and a red rash lasting four to seven days.
